It's reaching a new level. I'm not calling anyone. Period. Because we're so close to the due date (this Sunday), that any people I call always think I'm calling to announce the birth (and his name, for no one knows that). So I'm not calling anyone. Last week I called my mom and felt bad, because I know when she sees the caller ID she's thinking she's got a new grandson. Sorry for that mom. So I won't be talking to you anytime soon. Maybe this is in my head. But I definitely get the feeling that me calling someone is like playing a cruel joke on them.
If you'd like to talk to me. Please call me or email me. I am making no more phone calls.
Also, in case you're wondering about the name of our child, here are the hints:
1. The name is Biblical. But I'm not saying which testament.
2. If you know me, this name should come as no surprise (obviously, this clue, along with the first throws out Nomar and Brady).
3. There was a nickname I was using. The Mrs. disliked it so much that she said if I continued to use it the actual name would be disallowed.
4. Only two people have guessed it and they don't know they have. This means I'm not telling you even if you guess right.
There are four of you out there that know the name, either through a slip up or us testing it out on you. I ask you do not reveal yourselves or the name. In other words, you are not allowed to participate in the guessing. Thank you.

So is it Engelbert? I still think if it's born on the 16th I get the naming rights...
Oh maybe Rex Grosman, that would be awesome!
Delia and I followed a system of submitting all potential names to panel That included myself Jimmy Eager and a few others and we made fun of the names any way we could think of and names that survived the gauntlet were then suitable.
This ensured that our kid "Logan" would have a name suitable to survive elementary school.
My Sister is calling me with all of her potential names now.
If you want to keep the secrecy that is ok just make sure you make fun of every name to identify those names that may cause your kid grief in the future.
We did do that. That's why we told it to two people. And I had to nix other challengers to said name as well because of the reasons you desribe. Also, initials are important. For instance, my kids name is not going to be Franklin Aaron. But I have a sister-in-law who went with the initial T and A. And their last name begins with a B. They claim to not know what TAB is.
In other words, trust me, this has been covered from every possible angle. From vowel sounds to consanent sounds to possible spelling complications. I think it will be liked by all.
There are roughly 80 (give or take)common male biblical names used for male babies.
My guess is Malachi.
OH come on.. It's got to be Thomas, it's biblical, and Patriot oriented,, and if the middle initial is "A" then you get another great baseball nickame,, TAG
I think that his name is either Luke or Noah...am I right? :)
I'm going to guess Michael.
I heart biblical names. However, we've decided to use all family names. We've got them all picked out (it's a sickness), but there's no baby on the way. We don't want to find out the baby's sex though.
Anyhow... best of luck!! I check back daily to see if there's news.
In response to your hints I know the name:
1. Biblical Name: Jesus (pronounced heysoos)
2. I know you and you once like this baseball player
3. The nickname was Christ
Just a guess.
OK, so we can identify with the reluctance to make phone calls. I would hope that there is a call down list as soon as baby G is born and you have the privilege to do so. Perhaps having your email splattered with guesses may take you away from the Mrs. in her time of need. In any case, the baby boy will be named Philemon (pronounced 'Filet-E-Mon' because of your hankering for meat!
haha! I'm one of the 4!!!
wait unless you are including you and the Mrs. which shouldn't count. You guys made up the name in that case I would be 2. I feel like I know something really special and with knowing this comes great responsibility! ha! Plus I am like the last to know anything and i think that it is only fair that after holding out on the conseption of the baby that I should rightfully know the name of my little nephew! haha! Which I do. You and Jenny will be the first I tell the name of my child. Promise!
Well, if it's biblical, it has to Simpson, son of Simon.
OK, so I just looked up biblical baby names and landed in the S's.
Forgive me, for I have never read the bible, at least in English, and while I used to be able to read Hebrew, I never understood more than 5 words.
Sam: You were the last of the four to know. A little slow on the uptake if I heard the story correctly. And thanks for telling everyone.
Eric: Funny.
Levy: Didn't even know simpson was biblical. D'oh.
Sara: My middle name. Good guess.
Sarah: I'm not telling. But Luke/Lucas has been a popular guess among some.
Also, for those of you familiar with my toilet bowl theory, I offer you this: On the way to work today I said "If I win something at Tim Hortons today then the baby's coming. I won a coffee.
March 18 is the day
oobm
Aaron and Jen, Whatever you both name your baby I am sure that you both have thought and Prayed about and it will be a name that he will be proud of and am sure he will be a Blessin to us all. Love OONAand OOBM
I was not!!!
I knew the minute she used the wrong name for your nephew.
Herod, right?
Last time I was up there, you referred to the baby by initials, if I remember right, but I forgot it was a secret until after I left. :)
Oh, I know, the baby's name is Thadeus, in honor of Ohio State basketball coach Thad Matta.
is he going to be a Junior? Another AMG?
WE HAVE A COUSIN THAD!
